According to Janne Kristiansen, the head of Norway’s Intelligence Agency, Norwegian terrorist Anders Behring Breivik had plastic surgery to make him look more Aryan. “You do not have that Aryan look naturally in Norway,” Kristiansen said, “Hitler would have had him on posters.”
Breivik, who has been charged with killing 77 people in two terrorist attacks in Norway, is believed to have undergone a variety of facial plastic surgery procedures in order to achieve his desired Aryan look. Those who are familiar with the case believe he has likely received a:
And all this in an effort to earn brownie points with a madman who has been dead for nearly 75 years. This is appalling on so many levels.
Odd Motive for Plastic Surgery
It doesn’t surprise me that a terrorist would seek out plastic surgery. But what does surprise me are his motives. I would think that most terrorists would choose to undergo plastic surgery for one of two reasons:
- To better blend in with society in order to make it easier to complete their mission
- To radically alter their appearance and avoid capture by authorities after committing a terrorist act
But Breivik’s decision to undergo plastic surgery seemed to have nothing to do with improving these motives. Instead, it seems that plastic surgery serves a much more narcissistic purpose, helping him fulfill a sick, twisted NAZI fetish. I can’t exactly call myself an expert on terrorism, but I get the feeling Breivik doesn’t quite fit the typical terrorist profile.
About those Terror Attacks
Reports indicate that Breivik procured supplies for his terror attacks online. He used eBay to purchase materials such as sulfur to make the car bomb used in his attack in Oslo. He also bought the hazmat suit used to mix the chemicals online from a retailer located in Great Britain.
Norwegian authorities believe Breivik had also been targeting other high-profile locations in Norway for future terror attacks. A royal palace and the headquarters of the Labour party seemed to have been high up on his list.
A Portrait of Derangement
Breivik’s insanity seems to extend beyond his plastic surgery-fueled NAZI fetish. He posted a 1500-page “manifesto” online prior to committing the two terrorist attacks he was arrested for. Norwegian intelligence officers believe it was deliberately cryptic in order to create intrigue and mystery. “He wants it to be like a Da Vinci Code novel,” concluded one intelligence agent.
His bizarre behavior has continued long after he was taken into police custody. Breivik told police officials he refused to eat halal meat. I guess this is his way of telling the world his is not an Islamic Jihadist? Somehow, I think the Aryan Nation stuff probably took care of that.
He also asked to wear a military uniform during public appearances. After this request was denied, Breivik told police officials he would only wear a red Lacoste jumper when brought in public before the court. Is this some sort of nod to his Aryan Nation roots? I’m not really up on the symbolism of red jumpsuits.
Fortunately, this madman has been caught and is currently in jail awaiting trial. Citizens of Norway no longer have to fear the wrath of a lunatic obsessed with red jumpsuits, the Aryan Nation, and plastic surgery.
